Socio-cultural and linguistic adaptation of foreign language children in secondary schools of the Russian region (based on sociological research in Krasnoyarsk Krai)

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the main factors influencing the process of re-socialization of foreign language children in secondary schools of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Based on the results of empirical research, the authors have identified the main difficulties of socio-cultural and linguistic adaptation of foreign speakers. It is shown that the approaches and methods of adaptation of foreign speakers developed by the professional community in school conditions do not reduce the relevance of adaptation difficulties. The language barrier has a critical impact on adaptation processes, and the difficulties of organizing school cooperation with families of foreign speakers have not been solved. The authors have identified the main methods of overcoming barriers to adaptation of foreign language students in the practice of schools in the Krasnoyarsk Krai and teachers' ideas about the most effective methods of adaptation.
