In this article the different aspects of the migration processes in Russian and French societies are analyzed. The key research method is an interdisciplinary approach. The historical conditions and causes of the arrival of a considerable number of Moslem migrants and formation of the Moslem communities in France and Russia are examined. The particularities of the Islamic religion, which is the order of life for the majority of Moslems and their diaspora and determines their behavior, are shown. The common tendencies and particularities of the influence of the Moslem migrant communities on the development of the sociopolitical as well as religious and cultural processes in France and Russia are examined. Special attention is paid to the influence of the migration processes to French and Russian societies in the recent period. After all, French Moslems, who are born in France and received French citizenship, participated more actively in all spheres of the country’s live. However, marginalization of a part of Moslem youth took place, which contributed to the spread of radical Islamism among them. As is the case with the migrants in Russia, it is revealed that the majority of them work in spheres of transport services, trade and semi-legal “grey” zone and not in production branches (construction, repair works, etc). Besides that the migrants commit the biggest part of serious crimes in France, as in Russia. This situation leads to divisions in societies both in France and in Russia, in which the majority of it speak out against uncontrolled migration. In the long-term perspective the activity of migration processes may lead to a considerable social as well as confessional and civilizational transformation of the receiving socie-ties in the countries under study.
