Abstract
The article highlights the main ideas of P.A. Sorokin on
social loneliness. They are considered in the context of theories of
social mobility and integral methodology. The influence of Emile
Durkheim, Robert Merton and Pitirim Sorokin on the formation of the
integral model of loneliness by William Sadler and Thomas Johnson is
shown. The question of the correlation of the phenomena of social
isolation and cultural loneliness is raised.
