The aim of the paper is to analyze studies on the problems of the sociology of emotions. This analysis is based on Rus-sian works published in the 21st century. The paper highlights the main directions of research in the context of the sociology of emotions. It discusses the obstacles in the way of its more active institutionalization in Russian science. The prospects for the development of the sociology of emotions in Russia are demonstrated.
