Body and aging: the body in the context of social gerontology. (Literature review)

Abstract

The review is devoted to the «cultural turn» in social gerontology and the emergence of new theoretical perspectives in un-derstanding bodily (embodied) aspects of aging and old age in late mo-dernity society. Particular attention is paid to issues of physical aging in its various sociocultural dimensions (gender, ethnicity and race, dis-crimination, ageism, care for older adults).
