This article examines the motivation of people who
engage in unethical behavior in various spheres of public life. The
research method is the analysis of recent publications in the psychological
sciences. The existence of a wide range of motives for unethical
behavior is shown. It is concluded that certain types of it are important
indicators of destructive tendencies in certain areas of public life.
